September 4, 2025
Overview
Mold toxins are increasingly recognized as major contributors to chronic illness. In this webinar, we will review common presentations of mold toxicity and how to apply updated testing to establish a firm diagnosis. We will also explore how mold toxins contribute to the symptoms and findings often seen in chronically ill patients.
This presentation will also address some of the ongoing controversies in mold toxin management: What is the difference between mold and mold toxin exposure? When is the use of anti-mold medications appropriate? How can mold toxins cause such a wide variety of symptoms? How are mold toxins connected with other chronic illnesses (such as chronic Lyme)? And why don’t mold toxins affect everyone in the same way?
Finally, we will discuss practical solutions. Be ready for a fast-paced, 45-minute “drinking from the firehose” presentation packed with useful, actionable information.
Objectives
Learning objectives:
1. Be able to identify a potential MycoTOX patient based on presentation.
2. Understand the pathophysiology of mold toxin illness including its connection with the cell danger response, mitochondrial dysfunction, and many of the oxidative/toxic/inflammatory markers that we see in these patients.
3. Recognize the findings on both an Organic Acids Test (OAT) and a MycoTOX screen that should help with the diagnosis.
4. Understand the principles of mold toxin treatment using all the tools we currently have available.
