Pediatric Collection Kit Instructions
Applying the Pediatric Collection Bag
- Wash your hands before beginning.
- Cleanse the infant’s genital area and allow it to air-dry.

Peel the backing off the paper on the collection bag to expose the hypoallergenic adhesive.
Separate the infant’s legs and firmly attach the pediatric urine collection bag to the
child’s genital area.
- Females: Start from the bottom up with the adhesion at the skin flap, separating the vaginal lips (labia), and work upward. Press firmly to the skin surrounding the vagina (labia), with the excess of the bag positioned toward the feet.
- Males: Position the penis naturally through the bag opening, with the excess of the bag toward the feet. Press the adhesive firmly around the entire perimeter, ensuring there is no puckering.
- Reapply the diaper directly over the collection bag. We suggest cutting a small hole in the diaper and pulling the pediatric collection bag through to help hold the bag securely in place. If necessary, place a second diaper over the first to prevent skin irritation.
After Sample Collection
After the infant urinates into the collection bag, transfer the urine sample from the bag into the specimen collection cup. Refer to the Urine Collection Instructions for additional details.
