The GPL-TOX Profile, a non-metal chemical profile, is a useful assessment for environmental chemical exposures. Many chemicals are toxic to various cellular components, including the mitochondria. A marker on the GPL-TOX Profile called Tiglyglycine is often elevated in the presence of toxic chemicals.
